Beloved videographer Robert Saulson Passes
As we at Iconoclast Productions enter 2013, it is with a heavy heart at the loss of one of the members of the Saulson family, Robert Allen Saulson: the father of one of our founding members (Sumiko S. California) and the ex-husband of another (Carolyn Saulson). Robert was also the father of Scott Saulson. Here is a photo of the four in 1993, the year Iconoclast Productions was founded:

Robert was best known to many community members as a camera man and videographer involved with documenting community events in the Fillmore/Western Addition and BayView over the past 20 years. Tenderloin residents knew him as “Pops” and often saw him with his kids and grandkids near his home a few buildings over from Glide Church on Ellis Street.

Twentieth Anniversary of Iconoclast Productions

Iconoclast Productions was founded on March 19, 1993 – and this coming March will mark the 20th Anniversary of the non-profit organization. Iconoclast Productions is a 501(c)(3) media arts non-profit organization, founded in 1993 in San Francisco’s Western Addition / Fillmore district, for the purpose of assisting African American artists and artists with disabilities in the production, creation, and promotion of works in the media and multimedia arts, including independent film, video, music, and animation.
